Stairlift Servicing
As recommended by each stairlift manufacturer, any stairlift should be fully serviced, or maintained, every year. As a rule of thumb, this is done annually on or around the installation anniversary. The purpose of a stairlift service is to ensure that everything is working as it should do. It mainly involves a lot of inspection work so the cleaning of components may be necessary during this time. A full stairlift service can usually detect any faults or identify any possible issues before they progress to a level beyond repair.
During a routine service we carry out a 20 point check. This covers all of the safety circuits fitted to the stairlift which are designed to protect the user during use. The stairlft engineer also examines the stairlift motor and gearbox for signs of wear and tear. This can result in excessive noise and oil loss. All moving parts on the chairlift such as the arms and seat are tested. They are lubricated if required and tightened if they no longer stay up when folded. The rail is cleaned and the racking is oiled before making sure all the brackets are done up correctly.
We check the charging circuit from the wall all the way back to the pcb and also the remote controls. Stairlift Maintenance
All stairlift maintenance is carried out by a fully trained stairlift engineer during a stairlift service. Whereas a stairlift service fully checks all components and circuits, a stairlift maintenance visit is required to rejuvenate some or all of the most common parts subject to normal wear and tear. The safety circuits on a stairlift are controlled by a series of micro switches or reed switches. As the are mechanical they can wear with use over time and need replacing. We carry most switches in stock with the most common being available on our vans at the time of a stairlift maintenance visit.
Batteries are a common item that are replaced during a stairlift maintenance visit. These generally last 3 - 5 years under normal everyday use and are carried by our engineers on their vans. Occasionally during a stairlift maintenance visit, we find that the stairlift may be suffering from a worn roller which can cause the stairlift to bump as the roller rotates. This is normally due to lack of servicing as the rollers gather a build up of compressed dust over time causing the issue. However, once the roller has worn a flat on the running surface it will require replacing during a return stairlift maintenance visit or a stairlift repair.

Stairlift Repair
We know that at some point you will undoubtedly require a Stairlift repair, even if it's just a set of replacement batteries. A stairlift repair may require an additional visit if the stairlift requires parts that aren't normally kept in stock. This may be a printed circuit board (pcb) or a specific charger or power supply used by a particular manufacturer. Sometimes the stairlift repair is caused by a broken or damaged wire. Our stairlift engineers can usually repair these on site but depending on the severity, it may require a replacement wiring harness ordering.
In this instance we aim to order the part the same or next day so that it arrives as soon as possible. In certain circumstances we may even be able to provide the part from a doner stairlift which would be even quicker.

Our stairlift engineers can usually repair these on site but depending on the severity, it may require a replacement wiring harness ordering. Stairlift Removal
We provide a stairlift removal service and are always looking for good quality stairlifts to buy. We purchase good quality unwanted used stairlifts from certain manufacturers that are in good working order. We then recycle them and give them good home. When we buy back a used second hand stairlift, we provide a full stairlft removal for FREE!
If you just want a stairlift removal, then our stairlift engineer can still remove the stairlift properly for you. It can then be stored at your convenience in your place of choice.
We can also remove the chairlift and then reinstall it if you are thinking of having a new stair carpet. Our stairlift engineer can carry out a stairlift removal either the day before or on the same day and then reinstall it once the new carpet has been fitted.

Stairlift Relocation Service
