StairSteady has been designed to fill the gap between a typical handrail and a mechanical lifting solution, such as a Stairlift. This is a unique product. It seamlessly replaces your existing handrail with an easy to use safe solution for ascending and descending the stairs.

The StairSteady has a patented locking device which grips at any point along the rail. This enables the user to progress at a pace to match both the stairs characteristics and their own ability. The handle folds up or down at either end when not in use. This allows other users to use the stairs in a conventional manner.
The StairSteady provides persons of any age that feel apprehensive or unsafe using the stairs with a low cost solution.
A handrail helps and some people even add another one for extra assistance. However, this doesn't prevent them falling down the stairs if they loose their balance. The next step is usually a Stairlift but climbing the stairs is recognised as beneficial exercise. This is because it promotes and maintains mobility which is where the StairSteady fits in perfectly!
The StairSteady provides a higher level of safety than a handrail as its handle provides a horizontal barrier when descending the stairs. At the same time it gives the user a means of purchase to ease themselves up when ascending.

I ordered one of these after watching the promotional video on the internet. We don't particularly want a Stairlift fitting just yet and this is the perfect stepping stone. They came out to measure the stairs and did a survey to make sure it would suitable and then it was fitted the following week. We have already been advised that when the time comes, due to the width of our stairs, a Stairlift can be fitted in front of the StairSteady so it can stay in place. Very happy.
