Straight Stairlift repair in Leicester

Today we have been busy looking after Leicester Stairlifts. We went to see a lovely old lady in Earl Shilton Leicester. She had owned her current Acorn straight stairlift for the last five years. It had been maintained and serviced regularly by Acorn Stairlifts. Last month it came to the end of the five year warranty she took out. Her son called Central Mobility because he was concerned that the Stairlift was noisier than usual. When we arrived and heard the Stairlift we knew straight away that the gearbox and motor were on borrowed time!

Luckily we had come across this many times before. We removed the Stairlift from the rail and ran it in both directions whilst it was on the floor and not under any load. It was really noisy in the up direction as this is where most of the wear takes place under load.

Replacement Carriage Exchange

We showed the customer what we had found. We advised them to consider having a new replacement carriage from Brooks Stairlifts. This would drive straight on to the existing rail without needing any alterations. We gave them such a good price that they requested the new style seat to go with it too.

We Had The Solution

Once it was fitted we got them to try it out and straight away they noticed the difference. It was so much smoother and quieter.
